Sex education
- Percent of teens aged 15-19 years of age who report having received formal instruction before the age of 18 on "how to say no to sex," 2002:
- 85.5% of females
- 82.6% of males
- About two-thirds of teens received instruction on "how to say no to sex" before entering 9th grade.
- Percent of teens aged 15-19 years of age who report having received formal instruction before the age of 18 on "methods of birth control," 2002:
- 69.9% of females
- 66.2% of males
Just over 40% of teens received instruction on "methods of birth control" before entering 9th grade.
