Program Description:
The California Environmental Public Health Tracking Program (CEHTP) proposes a continuing development plan for California’s Environmental Public Health Tracking Network. The plan is consistent with the standards and architecture of CDC Environmental Public Health Tracking and the Public Health Information Network. Innovative aspects of the plan include continuing development of
- An automated, standards-based data exchange, spatiotemporal integration/linkage, and dynamic map integration services;
- Hazard, exposure, and health indicator development, including neurodevelopmental disorders, health impacts of climate change, community vulnerability indicators, and biomonitoring for hazard validation; and
- Spatial analysis tools that aid in disease and hazard mapping, visualization, and dissemination.
The California Tracking Program will include the following core measures on its Network:
- Asthma and heart attacks,
- Cancer,
- Birth defects,
- Drinking water contaminants,
- Air quality, and
- Vital statistics.
