1. On a College Campus

Emory - Clairmont Campus

Address: 2405 Dooley Dr., Decatur, GA 30033 (near the intersection of N. Decatur and Clairmont Rd)

Amenities include furnished apartment, outdoor swimming pool, parking, internet, and utilities.

Eligibility: Any current undergraduate, graduate, or professional student who has a summer internship relevant to his/her course of study is eligible for SIHP (Summer Intern Housing Program). Residents must have internships with educational or professional relevance. The Office of University Conferences retains the sole rights to determine eligibility, and all decisions are final.  

Rates (2008): All rates include parking, utilities, and amenities

$26 per night: for a private bedroom in a four bedroom furnished apartment with a bath shared with one person. ($780/month)

$33 per night: for a private bedroom in a furnished four bedroom apartment with a private bath. ($990/month)

Oglethorpe University

Address: 4484 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30319

Oglethorpe may have space available for summer interns. It will cost approximately $1680 for a bed in a double room for 10 weeks, utilities included.

2. Off Campus Housing Opportunities (including rental houses and apartments, available rooms and roommate services as well as sublets):

Rates: Range from $450/month plus utilities to $1500+/month plus utilities, however many require commitments of six months to one year — please read posting carefully.

Note: NCEH/ATSDR is not responsible for a student’s travel expenses to and from the project site or for the student’s housing costs. If selected for a Summer Internship that is located away from home or school, students are responsible for making their own arrangements for travel and housing.

From Emory’s Clairmont Campus - Take the 19 bus northbound on Clairmont Rd. towards the Brookhaven Station. Get off bus at the corner of Clairmont and Buford Highway. Catch bus number 39 to Buford Hwy at Oak Shadow Dr.

3. Carpools: It is possible to join or start a car or van pool.
