In the state of Connecticut, there are about
454,000
adults 18 and over who experience disability, representing 17.4% of the
population. 18.0% or 251,000 are women, and 16.7% or 203,000 are men.

report disability; for those age 45-64, the rate increases to 20.4%, and those
65 and over, 30.6% report disability.

report excellent or very good health, while 35.6% of people with disabilities
report excellent or very good health. 25.2% of people without disability report
good health, compared to 32.1% of people with disabilities, and 6.9% of people

disability.

report smoking, compared 27.8% or people with disabilities. Obesity 16.3% of
people without disabilities report obesity, compared to 28.3% people with
disability. Physical Inactivity. 12.0% of people without disability report
physical inactivity compared to 20.0% or people with disabilities.

have gotten a flu immunization in the past year, compared to 38.8% or people
with disability. Pneumonia (ever). 19.4% of people without disability have ever
received a pneumonia shot, compared to 28.3% of people with disability.

85.7% of
those with disability. Among those aged 45 to 64, 92.6% of those without a
disability have health care coverage, compared to 89.1% of those with a
disability.

44, 78.8% of people without disability have a continuous health care provider,
compared to 83.4% for those with a disability. For those aged 45-64, 90.5% of
people without a disability report continuous health care provider, compared to
90.5% of those with a disability, and for those aged 65 and older, 94.8% of
people without a disability report continuous health care provider, compared to
94.8% of those with a disability.
