Ed Hunter
Acting Director, CDC - Washington
As Acting Director, Ed Hunter directs and oversees CDC′s legislative strategy. He also represents CDC in Washington before HHS, other Administration officials, and non-governmental entities.
Since 2003, Mr. Hunter served as Deputy Director of CDC′s Washington Office. This office is the Washington, DC arm of the CDC Office of the Director, serving as a bridge between CDC and the Washington policy community including the Congress, Administration, and Washington-based health partners.
Mr. Hunter began his career at CDC′s National Center for Health Statistics, most recently serving as the senior policy and planning official for NCHS. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Maryland, and a Master of Arts in Science, Technology, and Public Policy (emphasis in health policy and economics) from George Washington University, along with formal training in epidemiology and public health.
