Peanut Butter and Peanut-Containing Product Recalls Related to Salmonella Infections

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration hosted a joint webinar for bloggers on Tuesday, February 3, 2009, in response to the recent outbreak of Salmonella Typhimurium and associated recalls of peanut butter and peanut-containing products.

Featured speakers included Casey Barton Behravesh, DVM, DrPH, DACVPM, LCDR, US Public Health Service and Veterinary Epidemiologist with OutbreakNet in the CDC Enteric Diseases Epidemiology Branch, and Jack Guzewich, Acting Deputy Director of the Office of Food Safety, Defense and Emergency Coordination in the FDA Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition.
